CALL TO WORSHIP

From Psalm 95
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.

For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.

OPENING PRAYER

Lord God Almighty.

Today we come before You,
the Rock of our salvation,
in thanksgiving and to bring our praise.

For we know, O Lord, that You are King over all creation,
that You are our Maker,
and that You have claimed us as Your people.

Bless us, we pray, as we begin this time of worship.
And send upon us a fresh movement of Your Spirit.
That we might be reminded once again that You are, indeed, King over all creation.
And that we are the sheep of Your pasture, forever under your Loving care.

In Jesus’ Name we pray.
Amen.

OPENING SONG

(To be read, sung, or listened to)

All Creatures of Our God and King: Classic Version

All creatures of our God and King,
lift up your voice and with us sing
alleluia, alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
thou silver moon with softer gleam,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Thou rushing wind that art so strong,
ye clouds that sail in heav’n along,
O praise him, alleluia!
Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice,
ye lights of evening, find a voice,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Thou flowing water, pure and clear,
make music for thy Lord to hear,
alleluia, alleluia!
Thou fire so masterful and bright,
that givest man both warmth and light,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Earth ever fertile, day by day,
bring forth your blessings on our way,
alleluia, alleluia!
All flowers and fruits that in you grow,
let them his glory also show,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

And all ye men of tender heart,
forgiving others, take your part,
O sing ye, alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
praise God and on him cast your care,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless,
and worship him in humbleness,
O praise him, alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
and praise the Spirit, three in one,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

All Creatures of Our God and King: Modern Version

All creatures of our God and King,
lift up your voice and with us sing
alleluia, alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
thou silver moon with softer gleam,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless,
and worship him in humbleness,
O praise him, alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
and praise the Spirit, three in one,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

All the redeemed washed by his blood,
come and rejoice in his great love,
O praise him, alleluia!
Christ has defeated every sin
cast all your burdens now on him,
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

He shall return in power to reign,
heaven and earth will join to say,
O praise him, alleluia!
then who shall fall on bended knee,
all creatures of our God and King
O praise him, O praise him,
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
praise him all creatures here below,
praise him above ye heavenly host,
praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

TIME OF OUR CONGREGATION’S PRAYERS

Opening

Lord God Almighty,

Your Word declares to us, that by Your ever-present and almighty power, You uphold – as with Your hand — heaven and earth and all creatures. And so rule them, leaf and blade, rain and drought, fruitful and lean years, food and drink, health and sickness, prosperity and poverty — that all things come not as by chance, but as ruled by Your Almighty hand.

And we know further Father — as revealed to us by Christ — that when we ask, seek, and knock, in faith; you do, indeed, give good gifts to Your children in accordance with Your infinite Wisdom and perfect Will. For just as surely as Your eye is on each sparrow, so surely is Your eye even more upon each of us, your people and the sheep of Your pasture.

And so we come to You in praise and adoration, gratitude and thanksgiving, for all Your are and all You have done. For each daily blessing and the eternal life in Christ. For each fruit of the Spirit and each promise of the Kingdom. For every evidence of Your Love, Mercy, and Grace in our lives. And for the assurance that You are in control of all things.

And in this, Father, we bring before you our reasons for thanksgiving and our needs for Your attention — trusting in Your goodness and love, Your care and control.

Personal Prayers for Our World, Congregation, and Ourselves

Closing

And now, Gracious God, as we continue on in this time of worship today, may You bless us richly in it — that we may bring a new song of praise in which You take joy, find a new measure of faith in which we grow, and find a new word of witness in which we might take the Good News of Jesus to the world in word and deed.

We ask this in the perfecting power of Your Spirit, and in Jesus’ precious Name.

Amen.
